26 January, 2018 THE QUODDY TIDES Page 31 JASON A. LINCOLN PERRY - Jason Adam Lincoln, 33, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Janu- ary 12, 2018. Jason was born in Machias on June 4, 1984, son of Dennis and Victo- ria (Veader) Lincoln. After graduating from Shead High School, Class of 2002, Jason worked as a dis- patcher for Cal- ais Police Department and at Dunkin' Do- nuts. He moved to southern Maine, where he was a dispatcher for the local po- lice departments. Jason went on to Manchester, N.H to work at Dunkin' Donuts until returning to Perry. When he returned home, Jason started working as an emergency medical technician for Downeast EMS, as well as working for Dunkin' Donuts. He took great pride in being close to home and being able to take care of his mother dur- ing her illness. Currently, Jason was at- tending school to become a paramedic. He was active with the LGBTQ commu- nity. Jason enjoyed performing in drag, known as Aboyda and most recently as Strag. He used his talent in the performing arts to help with numerous fundralsers throughout the state of Maine. Jason was predeceased by his mother, Vicki Lincoln; a sister, Jessica; his pater- nal grandparents, Malcolm and Margaret (Trafton) Lincoln; and his maternal grand- parents, Bernard and Cyrena (Marshall) Veader. Surviving are his father and best friend, Dennis Lincoln of Perry; sister, Jennifer Lincoln and fianc6 Dwayne Smith of Ashville, N.C.; brother, Dennis Lincoln Jr. and his two children Emma- Lynn and Zachary and their mother Karen Lincoln of Derry, N.H.; aunts and uncles, Muriel and Rusty Leighton of Pembroke, Gary and Rene Lincoln of Edmunds, Ronald and Cindy Lincoln of Sanford, Kevin Lincoln of Pembroke, Harriett and Michael Smith of South Windsor, Conn John and Carol Veader of New Glouces- ter, Stephen and Insun Veader of Darby- dale, Va Peter and Tammy Veader of Lanham, Md Donald and Nancy Veader of Pembroke, Cynthia Veader of Water- ville and Robert Veader and companion Carol of Alfaretta, Ga.; numerous cous- ins, special friends and his extended fami- ly in the emergency medical services community and at Dunkin' Donuts. Visiting hours were held January 19 at Mays Funeral Home- Flagg Chapel, East- port. A celebration of Jason' s life was held January 20 at the Perry Elementary School. ROGER ALAN KEEGAN EASTPORT - Roger Alan Keegan died January 18, 2018, at 65 years of age. For the past three years he lived in Eastport and prior to that in San Francisco, Calif. Roger was born in Kingston, N.Y on December 10, 1952. He spent his early years in the Hudson Riv- er Valley before his family moved to vari- ous midwestern states. He at- tended nine dif- ferent schools before graduat- ing from Harri- sonville High School in Missouri in 1971. A few years later he received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Central Missouri State College. In 1983 Roger moved from Kansas City to San Francisco where he lived for the next 30 years, working as a security guard at Bank of America Data Center and tak- ing in life in the Bay Area. Despite having lived in six different states, Roger was at heart a Californian. Roger was a quiet, introspective, obser- vant and artistic man. He leaves behind a collection of vibrant collages he created over a period of years. He loved rock mu- sic, especially the music of Jethro Tull, and he enjoyed discussing rock bands and song lyrics. He was an avid reader, espe- cially of mystery novels. He found plea- sure in tending to the plants and flowers in his suuroom. Dogs occupied a special place in his heart. Family members include his two sis- ters, Kimberly Keegan of St. Louis, Mo and Kristin Keegan of Pinole, Calif and Eastport; his brothers-in-law, Robert Clar- ke and Stephen Rodewald; and his nieces and nephews, Erin Kritz, Willa Keegan- Rodewald, David Keegan and Jesse Kee- gan. Our family mourns the sudden passing of this reflective, sensitive, and humorous soul who lived life on his terms. A cele- bration of his life is planned for next sum- mer when our family gathers again in Eastport. We would like to thank the raany resi- dents of Eastport, both summer and year- round, who reached out to Roger in one way or another. We will remember your kindness. JOHNSON LUBEC - Mildred June Johnson, 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, De- cember 24, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family and life partner. She was born October 16, 1955, to Francis and Beulah (Moores) Erquhart. She lived all of her life in Lubec. She worked many years in local fish processing. facilities. Cribbage at the Lubec American Legion was always fun, and she always looked forward to shopping trips with her sisters. She is survived by her life partner, Des- ten Keene; a daughter, Dawn Lyons and her husband Joey and Joey's son Devlin, who was very special in her life; a son, Jeffrey Johnson, his wife Felicia and their family; siblings, Francis Erquhart Jr Fae Spencer, Beverly Matthews and her husband Peter, all of Lubec, Mark Erquhart of New Hamp- shire; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Newman; and a grand- daughter, Celeste Maye Lyons. The family would like to extend a spe- cial thank you to the hospice services for the extraordinary care they provided for Mildred in her last days and for the sup- port of family and the community. Cookson of Robbinston passed away on January 12, 2018. She was born in St. Stephen on February 13, 1953, daughter of Arthur and Edith (O1- son) Garland. In keeping with Rebecca's wishes, no funeral services were held. Joan Daphne Kelly, 88, passed away January 9, 2018, at Marshall Healthcare in Machias. She was born in Eastport on Sep- tember 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite Cleland. The ser- vice was held at Humphreys Funeral Home in St. Stephen. Interment was at the Calais Cemetery. Brian Edward Ritchie, 40, passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2018, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bang- or. Brian was born in Calais on August 20, 1977, to the late James "Bimmy" and Jelaine "Fred" (Stanhope) Ritchie. A cele- bration of Brian's life was held at the Lob- ster Crate in Perry. Arrangements were by Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport.
